Believe Me Movie History and Plot:

Believe Me is an Upcoming English Drama Movie. The director and co-writer of the upcoming religious parody, "Believe Me," says that although his scheme takes a hard look "at the power of platforms, particularly among today's young Christians," he does not want to tag the film as a "Christian movie." The film's tagline is "It's only a sin if you get caught" and poses the question, according to filmmakers: "Why believe someone just because he's talking on a stage?"

"'Believe Me' is a parody on religious scandals," says co-producer and co-writer Michael B. Allen in a press release. "It holds up a mirror for viewers to see themselves and their expectations from a new perspective."  If your friend suggested a movie, would you be more likely to watch that trailer than a sponsored movie ad appearing in your Facebook feed? What if you learned that the friend had been paid to recommend it? That’s the advertising plan producing buzz around Austin-based Riot Studios’ upcoming feature film, Believe Me

Both the story and the advertising technique are targeted at Millennials. According to the Pew Research Center’s 2014 Millennials in Adulthood report, this demographic is considered as being “detached from institutions, networked with friends.” This demographic could be swayed to view a trailer upon the recommendation of a friend; further, the subject matter exploits on a general belief of this generation that religious leaders should not automatically be trusted.

The press release admits that the purpose of the film is to ruffle feathers. Preferably, those feathers would belong to Millennials, and they would respond by paying to see the film when it is released instantaneously in theater and on-demand, September 26
